A reference sheet for my alien species— the Mera! Made a while ago but I still really enjoy looking at it!
They have a melon, much like a beluga, that they use to communicate while underwater as well as some echolocation. Its not too big, so they don't primarily use it for hunting anymore.
Like it says above in the second image, The writing system is Boran made but since the two species started dealing with eachother, the Mera have adopted it and use it when necessary.
